What's your latest project?

I hope life is treating you well.
Are you busy crafting on this sunny day?
This is a quick post to to tell you what I have on my needles.
A simple but pretty vintage style doll's cardigan which will be part of a new sewing project.
I know, I have more than enough things on the go now
and so I have promised myself not to take on any more
until I have worked through my current list from beginning to end!
This RYC Cashsoft Baby DK in Pixie which you can see here
is beautifully soft and creates lovely even stitches. It's also a very pretty shade of pink.

~~~~~~~
Although, I have to say, I do like to be involved in several projects at the same time.
Some afternoons, I love to do my knitting along with a pot of tea and an old movie,
 or I may wake up and find it is the perfect day for taking photographs
or maybe I will work on some text for my new patterns
 (In regard to the latter, only when peace reigns over our house!)
On the other hand, I may have some sudden inspiration
which sends me rushing to my sewing machine for the day.
~~~~~~~
I am going to use some of this pretty  ribbon in my project, but haven't decided which yet!

~~~~~~
 Taking on several projects at once seems to be a very common phenomenon
 amongst us crafters, don't you think?
 If I find something new that captures my attention and imagination,
 I can't resist it, even though I may already have enough to do!
My days are always full of creating in one way or another.
Quite simply, I love it and it feeds my soul.
When I am happy, it adds to my sense of contentment
and on those less happy days, which none of us can escape,
 it provides me with a focus and inevitably lifts my spirits.
~~~~~~~~
Being inspired by things around me and then creating something unique
 is an occupation which I have been addicted to for as long as I can remember.
There are quite simply never enough hours in a day for me and this is the reason, my friends,
why I am off to pick up my lovely needles again.
The sun is shining and there is a lovely sense of calm around here today.
This is definitely the day for an afternoon of knitting.
Time to put the kettle on!

~~~~~~~~~
I would love to hear about the projects you are working on now.
Bye until then....
  1. I was just thinking about making a list of all my projects to help with organization and completing them. I was hit by insiration last night with some handspun and handdyed yarn that I dyed over the weekend. It will be turning into a lovely beret. I love having more than one project to work on as I never get bored that way. I also just need to finish the current ones first before taking on any more.
  2. I'm intrigued and looking forward to seeing your new project :0) I ashamed to list *all* of my WIPs! At the moment I'll only admit to two crochet amigurumi mice to make into catnip toys for a lovely lady who is donating a large hutch to us, and a dog coat!
    Happy crafting,
    Andrea
  4. My list looks a bit overwhelming too at the moment, Andrea.
    A large hutch for a few more lucky bunnies. What a kind lady!
  5. Hi Susan, well that sounds like the perfect sunny afternoon! I was at work today, but knitted all the way back and forth on the train. I am working on two scarfs for Sinterklaas now (the Dutch version of Santa claus, who comes to our home on dec 5th) so I have to hurry! Next to that I am working on a christmas-swap project with felt, embroidery and may be something more. You get the picture :-).
    Love, Maaike
  7. Hi Susan, hope you are well as you sound my dear. I have just finished a boy bunny with a red jumper with the letter R and now making a matching girl for the sister of its recipient. They are quite festive but still good for all year. These are for a special customer in my folksy shop. Before that I worked a fox. That was fun. In true multicrafting style though, I just bought materials for festive tea cosies. Can anyone recommend a shop where they sell `waking hours add on packs` lol. Cos I might be their best customer. I still want to make a animal (I must not say what, just in case they read) for a present for one of my family.
  8. Hello Joy,
    I think you are an expert in multicrafting. I may have to take some advice!
    The festive tea cosies sound a lovely idea.
  10. Thank you for the lovely comments, Victoria.
    I agree, it would be lovely to have just a few more hours in the day but all our busy crafting is definitely worth it when everything is done and safely wrapped!It is such a satisfying feeling, isn't it?
