Pause....

♥ ...and a very good morning to you...
A quick post this windy Friday morning
as my laptop is sadly about to give up on me
and so after struggling all week
she is to be admitted for a little restorative care later today!.....
building blocks...
I've been trying to get everything into some order
just in case I'm without it for more than a couple of days
(although I see a nice excuse for a quiet pause, don't you think ?
......well, as long as it isn't for too long!)
Above are my 24 completed blocks using my gorgeous  jelly roll
Vintage modern
All are sitting in a deliciously pretty pile waiting to be sewn together
...a perfect moment to take a break.....
I'm planning on some serious knitting time next week
pretty flowers...
this time sitting right outside my workroom window
and the cause of my constant day dreaming........(I really must stop it!)
but they do look so happy dancing in the breeze!
Commonly known as 'Beard Tongue'
but I prefer to think of them as
'Penstemon Hewells Pink'
(definitely so much more fitting in my opinion!)
most important...
I really do have to say a huge thank you too.....
to my lovely blog friend Jane of
....for my most beautiful bag charm...
which I was so lucky to win in Jane's recent lovely Giveaway
and whiich is now decorating my old vintage knitting bag...
(it always reappears with the arrival of Autumn!)
I was doing a happy dance when I heard the news!
Jane said that she felt it was 'me' ..and how right she is...
I love the colours of the beautiful beads and the addition of the
pretty, crafty charms makes it very special to me....
If you haven't visited Jane's lovely and entertaining blog
...here's the link..
You're bound to fall in love with Jane's gorgeous cat, Billy
such a handsome and distinguished young fellow!
It's always such a treat for me to visit
....and here 's Jane's ETSY shop link too
where you can buy her beautiful handmade
jewellery and cards...

 and finally....
a little pic from Ashley's arrival in beautiful Madrid...
After a bit of a stressful week looking for accommodation....
she is now settled and beginning her great adventure...
though she hasn't yet started at the university.
We do miss our beautiful girl already
(but we are learning all about the wonders of 'Skype'
and surprisingly I'm even growing to like it...now that really is something!)

See you next week for some fun!
the newly named
'  Autumn Giveaway'
.......will begin ...
as soon as my current  technical problems are solved...
Phew.....I've managed to get to the end..

Why are computers so awkward at times?

Take care

P.S An update on Lady P from my previous post...
She'seems to be making friends with hubby
and spending more time at home, I'm happy to say..
I think Vivienne had it spot on!

Post!

The bag charm is just lovely, perfect for a knitting bag..
Isn't skpe great, I don't know where I would be without. I use it all the time to talk to my parents back in Canada, makes the huge distance between us seem a little shorter.
    Have a nice weekend x

  2. It's nice to have a bit of a break but an extended one is not..I had a long break as my computer packed up at the end of last year and I didn't get a new one until about six weeks ago and it was far too long. I hope yours is fixed easily.

  3. GOOD MORNING SUSAN!

Oh our computers.....we get so attached to them because they connect US ALL, and a day or week without access to each others' worlds is tough! I will miss you. What fantastic pictures here! Ashley is going to LOVE Madrid, I hope!

We too are starting to get those windy days with bright blue skies and cooler temperatures. ENJOY THIS FABULOUS SEASON! Anita

  16. Hi Susan, I've just found your lovely blog through 519 Beech. I've just rediscovered knitting recently. You are so clever designing patterns. My favourite craft is patchwork/quilting but I also crochet and make enamelled jewellery. I would love to see you over at my blog if you get a minute. Maggie xx

  17. Oh hurray Ashley! You made it through - in my opinion/experience - the most stressful week of the whole year abroad. Well done to your daughter for getting her accommodation sorted out, Susan and well done to you for allowing yourself to daydream; SO much more beneficial than fretting!

I hope the weather in your world is as sunny as it is here today.

    Warmest wishes,

    Stephanie

  19. Lovely, chatty blog as usual - I really enjoy reading it..!!
I'm doing some 'blog catch-up' today (Sunday) as I spent last week preparing for a craft fair & completing orders. That & work too - will I ever learn - lol.
Hope your laptop recovers - they can be such a pain when they decide to play up & we become so reliant on them. Heyho, that's the modern age for you.....
Looking forward to reading your next blog & the giveaway.
