Hello New Year.....

...Hello...

Have you had a good start to the New Year?

Before we know it we're already heading towards the end of January..can you believe it?

It's been extremely cold and wintry in our corner and I've mostly been keeping busy
with my knitting needles, crochet hooks and lovely yarns.

As I went on my recent trip without taking anything to keep my hands warm (it snowed!)
it gave me the idea to make quite a few pairs of mittens through the year in quiet time.
I'm enjoying knitting MΔ«lΔ“t at the moment by Ysolda and well on with
the second mitten now. The pattern is beautiful and the yarn, which I haven't used before,
is really lovely to work with too (purchased as a kit on Ysolda's website)

I'm using my Knitpro Zing dpns which I initially purchased some time ago
and really appreciating the colour coded needles which make life easier in
so many ways... just perfectly practical x

A  few more pinafores and cardigans are being knitted so that there will be
lots of ideas for everyone when I release the pattern
(and for those who have asked, the pattern will be available very soon!)

(the Little White Rabbit from my craftroom Xmas tree)

I've decided one of my resolutions is to work only on personal projects at the weekend and
concentrate on work projects on week days and so as well as mittens, I've also started a new
crochet project which I can show you next time...variety is the spice of life, right? πŸ™‚

..and just one last thing before I go..

On
ETSY, Ravelry and the Tearoom Blog Shop
20% discount
will be available this weekend on the following
PDF Knitting Patterns...
.
‘Tearoom Bears’ (flat and seamed)
‘Tearoom Boy Bear’ (in the round)
‘Tearoom Girl Bear’ (in the round)
‘Sock Yarn Bear Jacket’
.
On ETSY
follow this link
(and discount will be applied automatically
otherwise use the code BEARS)

20% discount will also be applied automatically
in the Blog Shop and on Ravelry.

(running 20th - 21st January 2018 inclusive GMT time
- all specific pattern details included in individual listings)

Wishing you all good things in 2018

Happy things...

♥ ♥ ♥

I love my dpns and these are a lovely new addition to my knitting bag...KnitPro Nova...
...sitting untried in my cupboard for quite some time but now a firm favourite...

...places to store tiny doll buttons...my mini Bonne Maman jam jars are perfect!
(I used to keep them separated in the tallboy drawers of the dolls' house but was forever spilling them)
...now I just need to buy more jam ;-) ...

Chickadee from Quince & Co.
...it's definitely been added to my favourites list...smooth, soft, plump and springy...ooh, so lovely...
(purchased here )

...and after much deliberation on how best to block my cowl ...
my favourite steaming method worked beautifully as I wanted to keep the lovely texture of the
cables and the neatness of the seed stitch edging but open out the central lace pattern more
..maintain the lovely soft plumpness of the yarn

(I love the sculpted quality of small rope cables)
Pattern is Warble by Bonnie Sennot

...a pink vintage Bakelite Beehive Wool holder to add to my growing collection!
(very happy that it has the original handle too ;-) )

Carrots from Abel and Cole...xx

...I love their box of goodness sitting at our front door every Friday...
(a happy weekly ritual over recent years)

♥ ♥ ♥
Hopefully you've had a good start to September...
(my favourite time of year)
I'm busy here putting the new bears pattern together (boys this week)
so I thought I'd take a few little snapshots of current favourite things
in between taking pattern pics...I'm never without my camera and needles at the moment!

♥ ♥ ♥

..and before I go ...
I must mention too that the Tearoom is now on
Instagram
...if anyone would like to say hello it would be so lovely to see you!...
(slowly finding my way around ;-)  )

Wishing you a good new week
