Lots of festive loveliness...

Hello festive crafters...
Do you remember a couple of posts ago when I mentioned the lovely shop
Berry Red
Well friends, now that The Tearoom is looking festive,
I thought it would be nice to show you the items that I purchased
 which arrived so prettily wrapped....Christmas came early!
The vintage style wooden blocks above are lovely and will mix well
with our very old wooden tree base which has survived through the generations...
I love these spotty pegs and I am going to make a card hanger
 along with some jute cord or satin ribbon and hang it in the kitchen.
These vintage style gift tags come in different sizes.
 The larger tags are ideal if you want to add a special message
(I am usually trying to squeeze my message onto a tiny tag!)
They arrive in a lovely vintage style tin.
....and these wooden reindeers will
be taking pride of place above our fireplace
along with some festive lights!

~~~~~~~~
Hope you like the Christmas decorations around The Tearoom!
Are you feeling festive yet?
I would love to hear about your preparations..
~~~~~~~~
Happy festive crafting....!

What's your latest project?

I hope life is treating you well.
Are you busy crafting on this sunny day?
This is a quick post to to tell you what I have on my needles.
A simple but pretty vintage style doll's cardigan which will be part of a new sewing project.
I know, I have more than enough things on the go now
and so I have promised myself not to take on any more
until I have worked through my current list from beginning to end!
This RYC Cashsoft Baby DK in Pixie which you can see here
is beautifully soft and creates lovely even stitches. It's also a very pretty shade of pink.

~~~~~~~
Although, I have to say, I do like to be involved in several projects at the same time.
Some afternoons, I love to do my knitting along with a pot of tea and an old movie,
 or I may wake up and find it is the perfect day for taking photographs
or maybe I will work on some text for my new patterns
 (In regard to the latter, only when peace reigns over our house!)
On the other hand, I may have some sudden inspiration
which sends me rushing to my sewing machine for the day.
~~~~~~~
I am going to use some of this pretty  ribbon in my project, but haven't decided which yet!

~~~~~~
 Taking on several projects at once seems to be a very common phenomenon
 amongst us crafters, don't you think?
 If I find something new that captures my attention and imagination,
 I can't resist it, even though I may already have enough to do!
My days are always full of creating in one way or another.
Quite simply, I love it and it feeds my soul.
When I am happy, it adds to my sense of contentment
and on those less happy days, which none of us can escape,
 it provides me with a focus and inevitably lifts my spirits.
~~~~~~~~
Being inspired by things around me and then creating something unique
 is an occupation which I have been addicted to for as long as I can remember.
There are quite simply never enough hours in a day for me and this is the reason, my friends,
why I am off to pick up my lovely needles again.
The sun is shining and there is a lovely sense of calm around here today.
This is definitely the day for an afternoon of knitting.
Time to put the kettle on!

~~~~~~~~~
I would love to hear about the projects you are working on now.
Bye until then....
Happy Xmas Crafting....
Hello, my friends....
Are you preparing for the festive season yet?
I received a lovely parcel in the post today....
~~~~~~~~
Beautifully wrapped...
A few Xmas treats with a hint of nostalgia
 from a lovely shop which I recently discovered named...

Berry Red

A  shop full of pretty things ....
~~~~~~
I will show you my purchases from their 'Grotto' in my first Christmas post soon.
You can view their lovely seasonal products here
 I must say that I am suddenly feeling very festive!
I an intending to make some of my own decorations
and some special handmade gifts this year, so I think now is a good time to start...
~~~~~~
Next week, I am also going to have a good look at my favourite handmade websites
 to find some extra little gifts to add to my stockings
and support all those wonderful crafters out there who are busily working away
for the festive season!
~~~~~~
 Next, let me also introduce you to my new friend,
 who is going to help me along the way
with all my Christmas preparations....
I hope we are going to have a long and fruitful relationship.
She is very different to my faithful old friend which I purchased many years ago!
(Hopefully, the girls will enjoy experimenting with my old machine
which is still in good working order)
 My new model very kindly tells me when I am going about things the wrong way,
 which is most helpful at this point.
Fingers crossed that all continues to go well!
~~~~~~~~~
Oh...and one last thing before I leave you.
I have now joined Facebook
You can visit my profile here
and my Mary Jane's TEAROOM Page here
If you have a minute do pop in and say 'hello'.
That would be lovely and
CANDY would be so pleased to see you!
